Vanessa Day is a recovery advocate, writer and blogger. She lives in Milwaukee, WI with her husband, daughter and puppy.
As a woman in long-term recovery, she actively participates in community outreach programs. Some examples of her service work include chairing meetings for female inmates incarcerated in the Wisconsin prison system and participating in public speaking engagements in hospitals, treatment centers and recovery functions across the state.
Above all, she is a grateful recovering alcoholic and addict who hopes to break the stigma of addiction by sharing her story publicly and encouraging others to recover out loud.
“…encouraging others to recover out loud.” LOVE that line! Naming our fears and foes out loud takes so much of their power from them! Thank you so much for the follow, Vanessa. I look forward to seeing you around the blogs!

Love this. Great blog. Hey we are almost neighbors… I live in La Crosse, Wisconsins. So compared to so many others on this great big blogging community world… we are like neighbors… and neighbors in experiences and love and life and recovery and living and surviving and thriving etc. Love and hugs, Sue

We are like neighbors! I actually grew up in Green Bay. I moved to Milwaukee in 2002 for college. And you’re right, it is so cool to have a neighbor in the blogging world! Thanks for the message, and I am looking forward to reading more of your writing as well!

Thank you my neighbor blogger friend. Sorry about Aaron Rogers and your Packers if you are a Packer fan. I am a die hard Vikings fan because I am from the Minneapolis area originally and will always be a Minneapolis girl at heart. Forever a Minnesota girl. That is me… I can’t get that Minnesota or Minneapolis girl out of me. Go Vikings! Skol! Hugs, Sue
